      Role of moesin and its phosphorylation in VE-cadherin expression and distribution in endothelial adherens junctions.

          Abstract

          Vascular endothelial cadherin (VE-cadherin) is an important element of adherens junctions (AJs) between endothelial cells. Its expression and proper distribution are critical for AJ formation and vascular integrity. Our previous studies have demonstrated that moesin phosphorylation mediated the hyper-permeability in endothelial monolayer and microvessels. However, the role of moesin and its phosphorylation in VE-cadherin expression and distribution is not clear.
