The EU -funded Sharing Cities programme fosters international collaboration between cities and other stakeholders across Europe to build smarter cities of the future. Sharing Cities is a proving ground for better, common designs for smart cities. By fostering international collaboration between industry and cities, the project seeks to develop affordable smart city solutions. It offers a framework for citizen engagement and collaboration at local level, thereby strengthening trust between cities and citizens. The Sharing Cities, a Smart Cities and Communities ‘lighthouse’ programme financed from the Horizon 2020 brings together six European cities: London from the United Kingdom, Lisbon from Portugal, Milan from Italy , Burgas from Bulgaria, Bordeaux from France and Warsaw from Poland.
