      Subhealth Status of Presenile Residents in Three Cities in China and Influencing Factors

          Abstract

          Objective: To investigate the subhealth status of presenile residents in three cities (Beijing, Changsha and Chengdu) in China and its influencing factors.

          Methods: From December 2013 to April 2014, we selected 2 communities in Beijing, Changsha and Chengdu using cluster random sampling method. A total of 1 163 presenile residents were recruited, and 1 026 residents who completed effective questionnaire were enrolled in the research. Using SHSQ-25 questionnaire, the health status of the subjects was evaluated, and comparison was made in general data, physical examination indexes and laboratory indexes among subjects with different health status.

          Results: The detection rate of subhealth was 53.51% (549/1 026), and the two genders were significantly in the detection rate (P<0.05). Male subjects with different work intensity, medication condition within one week, diastolic pressure, FPG level and TG level were significantly different in the detection rate of subhealth (P<0.05); male subjects with different age, education level, occupation, marital status, smoking status, alcohol consumption, physical exercise and different levels of BMI, systolic pressure, TC, LDL-C and HDL-C were not significantly different in the detection rate of subhealth (P>0.05). Female subjects with different age, work intensity, medication condition within one week, FPG level and TC level were significantly different in the detection rate of subhealth (P<0.05); females subjects with different education degree, occupation, marital status, smoking status, alcohol cosumption, physical exercise, and different levels of BMI, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C were not significantly different in the detection rate of subhealth (P>0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that work intensity, medication condition within one week, FPG and TG had significant influence on the health status of male subjects (P<0.05); age, work intensity, medication condition within one week and FPG had significant influence on the health status of female subjects (P<0.05).

          Conclusion: The three cities have high detection rate of subhealth among presenile residents, and females are higher than males in the detection rate. Work intensity, medication condition within one week, FPG and TG are influencing factors for subhealth of male presenile residents, and age, work intensity, medication condition within one week and FPG are influencing factors for subhealth of female presenile residents.
