      REALIDAD EPIDEMIOLÓGICA, SOCIAL, FAMILIAR Y CLÍNICA DE 27 NIÑOS HIJOS DE MADRES VIH/SIDA CAPTADOS EN EL HOSPITAL DEL NIÑO MANUEL ASCENCIO VILLARROEL CBBA-BOLIVIA 2005- 2007

          Abstract

          Los casos de VIH/SIDA pediátrico ingresan al contexto cuando las madres reciben el diagnostico de VIH positivo. Los objetivos del trabajo fueron conocer aspectos relevantes acerca de su epidemiología, características sociales, familiares, y clínicas de 27 niños, hijos de madres VIH/SIDA, en el Hospital del niñ@ Manuel Ascencio Villarroel Cochabamba-Bolivia 2005-2007. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal mediante la revisión de historias clínicas y entrevista personal con los padres recolectando la información en un formulario diseñado adecuadamente, en el servicio de Consulta externa de Infectología Pediátrica del mencionado centro. Resultados: De los 27 niños hijos de madres con VIH/SIDA el 51,8% sexo masculino, procedentes el 80.8% del área urbana, contando la mayoría con relación uniparental, el 15% perdieron a uno de los progenitores en los últimos 2 años por causa del VIH/SIDA , del restante la mayoría tienen un grado de instrucción y estatus económico social medio a bajo; en su mayoría concubinados . El 81.8% de madres desconocía su diagnostico durante el embarazo y el pequeño porcentaje que se entero en gestación, recibió profilaxis de los cuales 30% seronegativizaron El 44.5 % tienen como diagnostico final VIH/SIDA, 37% se encuentra en espera de confirmación. Todos los niños VIH (+) con tratamiento especifico tienen notable mejoría inmunológica y pondoestatural. Concluimos que la realidad de niños hijos de madres VIH/SIDA en el departamento de Cochabamba presentan una prevalencía del 1.5% pasando de epidemia incipiente a concentrada; así mismo en los ámbitos social, familiar y clínico tienen un mínimo de diferencia con su realidad mundial.

          Translated abstract

          VIH/AIDS is currently a big publich health problem which is growing all over the world and also in Bolivia. It is noy only confined to adult populations, but children too. The VIH/AIDS pediatric cases enter on contex when the mothers recieve a diagnose of VIH positive. The objetive of this work was to know most remarkable aspects about epidemiolgy, social, familial and clinics of 27 young children born from mothers with VIH/SIDA at Children's Hospital "Manuel Ascencio Villarroel" from Cochabamba-Bolivia during 2005 -2007 period. It is a transversal descriptive study carried out reviewing clinical histories and data was layed out on a questionary form, at Pediatric Infectology external service. 27 young chlidren born from mothers with VHI/AIDS were studied. 51.8% were male. 80,8% come from urban área. Most of them had a uniparental relationship. 15% lost one of their parents in the last 2 years because of the HIV/SIDA. Most of them had an low economic and social level. Most of parents wewnon married but living together. 81.8% of mothers did not know their diagnosis during the pregnancy and the small remaining, recieved prophylactic tretment, wihch 30% turned out seronegative. 44.5% were diagnose as VIH/SIDA, 37% are awaiting confirmation. All children with VIH + treatment had a remarkable immunological and pondoestatural improvement. We concluded that the reality of young children born from VIH/SIDA mothers in the departament of Cochabamba is dificult since the prevalence is 1.5% passing from be a incipient to concentrated epidemy; At social, familial and clinical aspectos there are a mínimum difference compared with world wide reality.
