Resumen El valor del ser humano nace de su propia naturaleza como tal y no de las circunstancias, por tanto, el concepto de dignidad se materializa como principal elemento a tener en cuenta durante el proceso de relación asistencial. El concepto de dignidad y su significado ha evolucionado al compás de los tiempos y al cambio de mentalidad y evolución del pensamiento humano y es necesario hacer un recorrido histórico por la evolución de tal concepto para poder abarcar en su totalidad su significado, importancia y el concepto actual del mismo.
