          Abstract

          Resumen El artículo aborda el tema del pensamiento educativo latinoamericano mediante dos casos representativos: Simón Rodríguez y José Martí. El objetivo es valorar la significación de la obra educativa de ambas figuras, su autenticidad y originalidad en su contexto de desempeño. Se retoman resultados investigativos anteriores del autor sobre la base de la revisión minuciosa de las obras completas de ambos educadores. Se ha confrontado el pensamiento y la obra educativa con el contexto que las condicionó. En cuanto a educación, se valora la significación de la expresión del pensamiento como lo más significativo de la memoria educativa del continente.

          Translated abstract

          Abstract The article deals with the topic of Latin American educational thinking through two representatives personalities: Simón Rodriguez and José Martí. The objective of this work is to assess the significance of the educational work of both figures, their authenticity and originality in their context of performance. Previous researching results of the author are retaken on the basis of a review of the complete works of both educators. The thought and the educational work have been confronted with the context that conditioned them. The significance of the expression of thought in relation to education is valued, as the most significant of the continent's educational memory.

          Resumo O artigo aborda o tema do pensamento educacional latino-americano por meio de dois casos representativos: Simón Rodriguez e José Marti. O objetivo é avaliar o significado do trabalho educativo de ambas figuras, sua autenticidade e originalidade em seu contexto de actuação. Os resultados de pesquisa prévios do autor são retomados com base em uma revisão minusiosa dos trabalhos completos de ambos educadores. Foi confrontado o pensamento e o trabalho educacional com o contexto que os condicionou. O significado da expressão do pensamento em relação à educação é valorizado, como o mais significativo da memória educacional do continente.
