We propose the design of a prototype olfactory display device constructed using off-the-shelf components for use with virtual reality headsets, capable of integrating with industry standard game engine technology. We provide an overview of the device’s construction and functionality with further information regarding how the device release scent stimulus from locational triggers within a virtual environment.
