Economic Evaluation of Image-Guided Procedures : A Comparative Study of Outpatient-Based Labs and Surgical Operating Rooms

The efficient utilization of healthcare resources is critical to maintaining cost-effective and high-quality patient care. Image-guided procedures, commonly used in diagnostic and therapeutic applications, can be performed in various settings, notably in Outpatient-Based Labs (OBLs) and Surgical Operating Rooms (ORs) [1].We conducted a multi-faceted economic analysis of these two settings. Procedure durations, lab staff costs, and operating costs were the primary metrics considered. Data was collected from multiple hospitals and outpatient centers across different geographical regions to ensure a comprehensive and representative dataset.
