Plants suffer from attack of various pathogen like fungi, bacteria which causes wilting of leaves, destruction of plant parts especially the shoot system and many more. However, just like humans exhibit immune responses against any pathogenic attack in the body, plants too exhibit such features. Plants secrete certain secretome proteins in their apoplastic regions which is one of the defence system played by plants to stop the invasion of pathogen inside the plant body. The microbial elicitors also known as Pattern-associated molecular patterns (PAMPS) are recognised by membrane-localised pattern recognition receptors (PRR) of plants.
