This poster showcases how tools and technology can support academic publishers and university presses by optimizing workflows and automating processes to enable them to publish and share scholarly content. Exploring the end-to-end publishing process from the ideation and creation workflows, to managing content distribution and dissemination, and calculating royalties and analyzing sales, the poster illustrates how tools and technology can help scholarly publishers to: 1) Inform and improve acquisition decisions; 2) Manage any saleable product—from physical books to digital content, journals, merchandise, and licenses—plus a wide range of identifiers (including those beyond the ISBN); 3) Meet open access requirements; 4) Support the peer review process; 5) Streamline the production process; 6) Make appropriate printing decisions, including POD; 7) Share relevant content through appropriate channels consisting of multiple distributors, aggregators, libraries, websites and platforms; 8) Automate royalty calculations and statement delivery; and 9) Better understand sales trends to inform future publishing and dissemination decisions.
