      Management of Bird Sanctuaries

            Abstract

            The author has demonstrated through various case studies, the need and methodology of bird sanctuary management. A change in the habitat structure affects the composition of bird species. He emphasised the significance of management decision-making and actions backed by adequate scientific investigation and research. Data collection, habitat study, land use pattern and versatility rating of birds are some of the important aspects of sanctuary management with the objective of improving the habitats for migrantas well as resident birds.
