            Abstract

            The author discusses various topics related to environmental sustainability and sustainable development. This article touches upon the history of environmental concerns, the concept of sustainable living, the relationship between economic growth and environmental protection, the effectiveness of eco-taxation, assigning an economic value to natural capital, and political/economic systems' role in sustainability. It also explores different views and debates surrounding these topics, including the debate between weak and strong sustainability, the difficulty in distinguishing between wants and needs, and the importance of equity and justice in sustainable development.The author discusses various topics related to environmental sustainability and sustainable development.
