            Abstract

The current economic paradigm of Consumption Growth Driven Economics (CGDE) has reached its expiration date for Western economies and is poised to harm emerging economies like India and China due to resource constraints. This article advocates the need for a shift towards a new economic paradigm, referred to as Wellbeing Growth Driven Economics (WGDE), that prioritizes ecological restoration and conservation. To achieve this shift, businesses must transform and adopt new sustainability principles. It poses important questions regarding the role of business in reducing energy dependence, promoting sustainability, and measuring success. In conclusion, the paper suggests that businesses aligning with social and ecological wellbeing will be the successful businesses of the future, making a compelling case for a paradigm shift in business design.
