I am Professor of Zoology at the Institut für Spezielle Zoologie und Evolutionsbiologie (FSU Jena). I work on insect morphology, phylogeny and evolution since ca. 30 years. I am the leader of the Entomology Group at the Phyletisches Museum. We investigate Coleoptera and many other groups of insects (e.g., Zoraptera, Strepsiptera, Mecoptera, Diptera). Specific topics are innovative morphological techniques, attachment structures, miniaturization, insect sperm and others.
