    Biography

Germà Coenders holds a doctorate in Management Sciences by ESADE (University Ramon Llull, Spain 1996) and is full professor of quantitative methods for economics and business administration since 2016 at Universitat de Girona, Spain, and vice-dean of the School of Doctoral Studies. Teaching includes statistics, econometrics and survey methods graduate and undergraduate courses. His main research interests have been measurement errors in surveys (founding member of the European Survey Research Association -ESRA-, founding associate editor of the WOS journal Survey Research Methods) and compositional data analysis (founding member of the Association for Compositional Data -CoDa-Association where he acts as Secretary General). He has published over 50 articles in journals in the WOS and over 60 other research pieces, mainly about the above mentioned two topics, and specifically their application in management, economics, tourism, and related fields. More precisely, he has pioneered the application of compositional data analysis in economics and business, with over 20 publications on this topic, covering aspects such as marketing innovation, product portfolio analysis, tourism economics, tourist spending behavior, transportation management, market segmentation, e-marketing, management education, and financial statement analysis. From a methodological point of view, published advancements include compositional structural equation models, compositional mixture models, compositional partial lest squares, compositional canonical correlation analysis, compositional dynamic models, compositional data analysis with a total, and generalized linear models with a compositional predictor.
