Encuentros y rituales sufís virtualizados en pandemia. La tariqa Naqshbandi Haqqani Rabbani en Argentina

Abstract

Resumen El artículo aborda las estrategias desarrolladas por un grupo Naqshbandi Haqqani situado en la Patagonia y su líder, para mantener el vínculo con los integrantes de la comunidad extendida, mediante la virtualización de encuentros y rituales religiosos en el contexto pandémico. Presenta resultados de experiencias etnográficas offline y online llevadas a cabo entre 2017 y 2021, en la comunidad sufí ubicada en Pampa de Mallín Ahogado (Río Negro) y en las redes sociales de la organización. Describe y analiza específicamente dos eventos de Zoom organizados por el grupo y trasmitidos por YouTube: uno de 2020, en el que el líder responde consultas e inquietudes a sus seguidores de Latinoamérica; otro de 2021, en el que se recrean varios rituales religiosos que incluyen desde la iniciación de un nuevo miembro en la orden hasta un casamiento. El interrogante que guía este trabajo es cómo se reconfiguraron los encuentros y rituales religiosos que implicaban la copresencia y fuertes estados de efervescencia colectiva, en el marco de la virtualidad.

Abstract The article addresses the strategies developed by a Naqshbandi Haqqani group located in Patagonia and its leader, to maintain the link with the members of the extended community, through the virtualization of meetings and religious rituals in the pandemic context. It presents results of offline and online ethnographic experiences carried out between 2017 and 2021, in the Sufi community located in Pampa de Mallín Ahogado (Río Negro) and in the social networks of the organization. It specifically describes and analyzes two Zoom events organized by the group broadcast on YouTube: one in 2020, where the leader responds to queries and concerns to his followers in Latin America; another from 2021, in which various religious rituals are recreated, ranging from the initiation of a new member in the Order to a marriage. The question that guides this work is how the religious meetings and rituals that implied copresence and strong states of collective effervescence within the framework of virtuality were reconfigured.
