This paper includes descriptions of the immature stages of Epilachna spreta (Muls., 1850), as well as redescriptions together with certain comments of E. paenulata (Germ., 1824), E. cacica (Guér., 1844) and E. clandestina (Muls., 1850) are presented. Two new species groups have been established and named as "paenulata" and "cacica". A key for the fourth instar larvae of the species commonly found in South Brazil is included.
