          Abstract

12,13-Didehydrofurospongin-1 and 16 beta-acetoxy-24-methyl-12,24-dioxosclaran-25-al, C21 and C26 sesterterpenes, were isolated from the sponge Carteriospongia flabellifera collected on the Great Barrier Reef, and their structures were determined by spectral analysis. The occurrence of these compounds falls into previously noted chemotaxonomic patterns.
