Abstract
Ionic solutions are dominated by interactions because they must be electrically neutral,
but classical theory assumes no interactions. Biological solutions are rather like
seawater, concentrated enough so that the diameter of ions also produces important
interactions. In my view, the theory of complex fluids is needed to deal with the
interacting reality of biological solutions.
