Abstract

Se realizó un programa de telemedicina en la Especilalidad de Oftalmología en Cuba y el mundo en el mes de marzo de 1999 entre el Hospital Oftalmológico Docente "Ramón Pando Ferrer" y la Universidad de Indiana, pese a la distancia que separan ambos países, la consulta digital permitió el intercambio científico; cuyos objetivos establecieron diagnósticos certeros y de conducta terapéutica mediante imágenes de pacientes con diferentes tipos de estrabismo.

A telemedicine program was made in the specialty of Ophthalmology in Cuba and in the world, in March, 1999, between "Ramón Pando Ferrer Ophthalmological Teaching Hospital and the University of Indiana. In spite of the distance separating both countries, the digital consultation allowed the scientific exchange, whose objectives established accurate diagnoses and therapeutic conduct by images of patients with different types of strabismus.
