          Abstract

          Com o objetivo de identificar os estilos preferenciais de pensar e criar em estudantes universitários, verificando a influência da variável estado de moradia, o presente estudo foi desenvolvido junto a 186 estudantes, sendo 75 provenientes do estado da Paraiba, 50 do Paraná e 61 de São Paulo. Neste sentido a escala Estilos de Pensar e Criar foi utilizada visto que permite enquadrar os examinandos em cinco estilos diferentes (relacional-divergente, emocional-intituitivo, lógico-objetivo, inconformista-transformador e cauteloso-reflexivo). Os resultados demonstraram que, de uma forma geral, estudantes das regiões sul e nordeste apresentaram um perfil similar quanto aos estilos predominantes, com os estudantes da região sudeste se diferenciando dos demais. A análise da variância indicou que a variável cidade de moradia exerce influência significativa no estilo dos estudantes, concluindo-se que as diferenças encontradas podem estar refletindo padrões culturais diversos presentes na população brasileira.

          Translated abstract

          Considering the importance that to identify the preferential thinking and creating styles in university students, verifying the influence of the local of habitation variable, the present research was developed with the sample composed by 186 brazilian students, 75 that lived in a Paraiba state, 50 in a Parana state and 61 by the Sao Paulo state. The instrument used was “Style of Thinking and Creating” because it permitted the classification in five different styles. The results had demonstrated that the students of the south and northeast cities they present a similar profile of styles, being the students of the Southeastern city had been different results. The analysis of variance indicated that the city of habitation showed significant influence in the style of the students. The data allow concluded that the differences can be reflecting cultural standards diverse in the Brazilian population.
