Abstract

A ampliação dos estudos psicométricos evidencia-se em ritmo acelerado, com rigores que promovem e destacam o uso seguro de testes psicológicos, dada a complexidade em se observar e mensurar fragmentos do comportamento humano. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo objetivou identificar as dificuldades e as diferenças de leitura associadas aos tópicos de avaliação psicológica e informações estatísticas contidas em manuais de testes psicológicos por profissionais e estudantes de Psicologia. Participaram desta pesquisa 30 psicólogos de diversas áreas de atuação e 30 estudantes concluintes do curso de Psicologia. O instrumento utilizado foi um questionário contendo 10 itens de identificação sócio-demográfica e 13 itens sobre leitura de conteúdos estatísticos e não estatísticos em manuais de testes psicológicos. Os resultados apontam para diferenças significativas de leitura de conteúdos estatísticos e não estatísticos em manuais de testes psicológicos, e de suas dificuldades, entre profissionais e estudantes. Esses resultados corroboram outros estudos da área.

The increase of the psychometric studies proves to be in accelerated rhythm, with rigidities that promote and justify the safe use of the psychological tests, given the complexity in observing and measuring fragments of the human behavior. In this sense, the present study aimed to identify the difficulties and the reading differences associated to the topics of psychological evaluation and statistical information contained in manuals of psychological tests shown by psychology professionals and students. Thirty psychologists of several professional areas and 30 last years psychology students participated in this research. The instrument was a questionnaire containing 10 items of social-demographic identification and 13 items about reading of statistical and non-statistical psychological tests manual content. The results indicate a significant difference in reading statistical and non-statistical content, and their difficulty, between professionals and students. The results corroborate with other studies on the subject.
