          Abstract

The influence of Tangeretin (TGT) on the inhibition of corrosion on mild steel in hydrochloric acid has been investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance (EIS). The result of weight loss study shows that the corrosion inhibition efficiency (IE) is directly proportional to the concentration of the inhibitor. Electrochemical study proved that the inhibitor acts as a mixed type inhibitor. Tested inhibitor adsorb on the steel surface according to Langmuir isotherm. From the adsorption isotherm some thermodynamic data for the adsorption process are calculated and discussed.
