Abstract

Resumen: CIEPLAN fue el centro de estudios más influyente en la oposición a la dictadura y la recuperación democrática en Chile, pues contribuyó a sentar sus bases políticas y económicas. Estudios lo abordan como un fenómeno tecnocrático y se centran en la trayectoria de sus miembros. Aquí se revisa la evolución de sus ideas referidas a la democracia y el neoliberalismo, sistema económico que actualmente se encuentra en crisis, mediante el análisis secuencial de sus trabajos escritos. Se constatan tres fases intelectuales, y se ofrece una serie de explicaciones para los giros que las conectan.

Abstract: CIEPLAN was the most influential think tank in the opposition to the dictatorship and the democratic recovery in Chile, as it helped lay its political and economic foundations. Studies address it as a technocratic phenomenon and focuses on the trajectory of its members. Here we review the evolution of their ideas regarding democracy and neoliberalism, an economic system that is currently in crisis, through the sequential analysis of his written works. Three intellectual phases are found, and a series of explanations are offered for the turns that connect them.
