Abstract

Resumo Este ensaio quer intervir no tema das guerras dos Jê - Cayapó’ meridionais- no século XVIII com vistas a mostrar como esses grupos incorporaram de maneira diferencial os inimigos e seus bens no contexto histórico dos contatos. A partir da análise de documentos referentes à região hoje conhecida como sul de Goiás, Triângulo Mineiro e norte de São Paulo, o artigo dialoga com a Antropologia e a História e pretende mostrar que, por meio das guerras de saque, esses grupos indígenas colocaram em ação simultânea diferentes avaliações simbólicas e incorporações políticas de suas alteridades.

Translated abstract

Abstract This papper aims to intervene in the matter of the southern ‘Cayapó’- wars in the eighteenth century to show how these groups differentially incorporated enemies and their goods into the historical context of contacts. Based on an analysis of documents referring to the region known today as south of Goiás, Triângulo Mineiro and north of São Paulo, the papper dialogues with Anthropology and History and intends to show that, by means of the wars of loot, these indigenous groups put into simultaneous action different symbolic evaluations and political incorporations of their alterities.
