Abstract

Neste artigo procuro problematizar alguns conceitos (estrutura, sujeito, determinismo e mudanças) no campo das ciências sociais, entendendo-os como fundamentais aos estudos da saúde coletiva. O objetivo central é tratar da subjetividade e do sujeito, porém, para fazê-lo, recorro aos contextos históricos e aos campos teóricos nos quais tais questões são tratadas, sempre em pares de oposição, ou em alguns casos mais atuais, busco a sua integração em um universo de complexidade: pois assim se apresenta a realidade social e, por conseqüência, a realidade da saúde, parte significativamente responsável por indagações e avanços no mundo da ciência e no mundo da vida.

The aim of this article is to question some concepts (structure, subject, determinism and changes) in the field of social sciences, understanding them as fundamental for studies on community health. The central objective here is to deal with subjectivity and subject. To do so, we refer to the historical contexts and theoretic fields where these questions are discussed, always in counterpoised pairs or, in some modern approaches, we try to integrate them into a complex universe. It is the way, after all, that social reality is presented and, consequently, the reality of health highly responsible for investigations and advances in the world of science and in life.
