Located in Colos, Portugal, the Peace Research Center, Tamera, is based on community structures from the late 1970s. However, throughout its history, it has managed to transcend and evolve the concept of community, passing through that of eco-village and intentional community, until it developed and became a Healing Biotope. This socio-ecological model seeks to develop a prototype of life, based on two main approaches: (1) the creation of autonomous and decentralized systems of water, food, and energy; (2) social synergies that empower and foster trust, transparency and mutual support with all living beings. The complexity of these models - thanks to the holistic approach, allows to offer feasible and contextualized solutions to problems in different areas, such as social, political, environmental, and/or economic. Likewise, the opening of the system has allowed interaction and reciprocal collaboration with the main actors and decision-makers in the region. (Poster available in Spanish Language)
