Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo principal sistematizar parte de la producción mundial científica en las publicaciones en revistas online sobre el tema geodiversidad en el contexto del turismo en el período de 2007 a 2016. Se utilizaron métodos bibliométricos como instrumentos para organizar y comprender los resultados del análisis de 37 artículos. Los resultados muestran que la mayor parte de estos estudios son publicados en el área de las geociencias y por eso el turismo es abordado sólo tangencialmente y discutido en la perspectiva conceptual del geoturismo, en la cual la geodiversidad es un elemento formador de la atracción turística. El análisis se profundiza en nueve artículos en los que los conceptos aparecen más destacados. Se concluye que aún existe un vacío en los estudios que propician discutir sobre la relación del turista con la geodiversidad para contribuir a la planificación de los destinos turísticos ampliando la integración/interacción del turista en los viajes.

Translated abstract

The main objective of the research was to systematize part of the world scientific production about geodiversity in tourism context published in online journals between 2007 and 2016. Bibliometric methods were used as an instrument to organize and understand 37 articles analysis results. They show that most of these studies are published by the area of Geosciences and therefore tourism is only tangentially approached as a shaping element of tourist attraction. The analysis concentrates in nine articles in which the concepts appear more outstanding. As a conclusion, it is clear there is still a gap in the studies that would allow discussing tourist and geodiversity relation contributing to tourist destinations planning by increasing the integration / interaction with travellers.
