          Abstract

          Translated abstract

Abstract Michel Henry’s «material phenomenology» constitutes one of the most prominent attempts of thinking the invisible in the context of contemporary philosophy. The present work seeks to show the philosophical and theological implications derived from Henry’s description concerning God’s paradoxical way of appearing. God only shows in the invisible, this means, in immanent absolute life and that transcendental life constitutes the self-revelation of God himself. A revelation that takes place beyond (or «on this side of») the objective world and that, for this reason, makes superfluous and absurd any hypothetical demonstration or proof of the existence of God in the traditional «metaphysical» way.
