Abstract

A revelação da violência sexual (VS) tem sido descrita como um processo importante, culminando com o relato das vítimas acerca da violência sofrida. A maioria dos estudos sobre o assunto tem como foco vítimas do sexo feminino, dificultando a generalização de seus resultados para vítimas do sexo masculino. Diante disso, o objetivo desse estudo foi compreender o processo de revelação da violência sexual sofrida por um menino, a partir do relato de sua mãe, por meio de um estudo de caso. Realizou-se uma entrevista semiestruturada com a mãe do menino, a qual abordou questões sobre a descoberta da VS, sentimentos e reações maternas e a repercussão do fato para a família e para a vítima. A análise da entrevista foi organizada em três eixos: (i) revelação da VS como um processo; (ii) as reações maternas frente à descoberta e; (iii) repercussões da VS. A descoberta sobre a VS ocorreu a partir de conversas entre mãe e filho, que permitiram que a situação fosse revelada aos poucos. O impacto da revelação desencadeou na mãe sentimentos de culpa e preocupações com a sexualidade do filho. Destaca-se, portanto, a importância da rede de apoio familiar e institucional, com serviços e profissionais capacitados para atuar nesse momento de crise familiar advindo da revelação da VS. Além disso, ressalta-se a importância de estudos na temática da violência sexual contra meninos.

Translated abstract

The disclosure of sexual violence (SV) has been described as an important process culminating with the victim's report about the violence suff ered. Most studies about this issue are focused on female victims, which makes it difficult to generalize their results to male victims. Therefore, the objective of this study is to understand the process of disclosure of SV suffered by a boy on the basis of the report by his mother, through a case study. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the child's mother, who talked about the discovery of this case of SV, her feelings and reactions as a mother and the repercussions for the family and victim. The analysis of the interview was organized around three axes: (i) disclosure of SV as a process; (ii) maternal reactions to the discovery; and (iii) repercussions of the SV. The discovery of the SV resulted from conversations between mother and son that gradually revealed the situation. The revelation's impact on the mother caused guilt feelings and concerns with her son's sexuality. Therefore, the article highlights the importance of the network of familial and institutional support as well as of the services and qualified professionals to act in family crises. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of studies on the issue of sexual violence against boys emphasized.
