          Abstract

          Translated abstract

ABSTRACT The following article consists in a critical analysis of three Chilean science fiction short stories, which, by using the category of Latin American monster, focuses on the configuration of post-human subjectivities expressed in the texts. This interpretation intends to acknowledge and revalidate the socio-cultural context of production by emphasising the bonds between cybernetics and identity, with the purpose of acknowledging the historical, political and cultural issues narrated in these texts. All of which, in this case, are linked to memory, death and the disembodiment of the human being.
