An influential platform for road transport research

Abstract

Transportation in Europe faces several challenges that are interrelated: decarbonisation, alternative energies, connectivity, efficiency, and ensuring urban mobility. Topics such as electrification of the vehicle fleet and progressive automation of driving represent very important research challenges which require massive R&D investments over several decades. The role of ERTRAC is to gather the views of the research actors into single European roadmaps laying down the research activities that need to be done in the coming years.
