Escenarios de terror entre esperanza y memoria:: políticas, éticas y prácticas de la memoria cultural en la Costa Pacífica Colombiana

Abstract

Este artículo comienza con las siguientes preguntas: ¿por qué hoy en día es importante hablar, escribir y pensar sobre la memoria en contextos de violencia? ¿Por qué ésta es crucial dentro de las prácticas de la vida cotidiana, para la creación de identidades y la construcción del futuro? ¿Cómo podemos nosotros entender la importancia de las políticas y éticas de la memoria en contextos donde la violencia opera a diferentes niveles en la vida cotidiana? Comencé a hacerme estas preguntas después de trabajar dichos temas en el último año con el Proceso de Comunidades Negras, PCN, del Pacífico colombiano. Mi trabajo explora las articulaciones entre políticas, memoria cultural y violencia que se establecen a través de las prácticas de este movimiento social en la Colombia contemporánea.

Translated abstract

This article starts with the following questions: why is it important today to talk, write and think about memory in contexts of violence? Why is it crucial within the practices of everyday life, for the creation of identities and the construction of the future? How can we understand the importance of the politics and ethics of memory in contexts where the violence operates in different levels of everyday life? I began to raise these questions after exploring these issues in the last year with the Process of Black Communities, PCN, of the Pacific Coast in Colombia. Hence, my work explores the articulations between politics, cultural memory and violence that are established through the practice of this social movement in contemporary Colombia.
