A sheet metal of required dimensions has been designed and modelled using CAD software. The simulation of the sheet metal is developed to understand the motion of the bending of the given sheet metal. This gives us an idea of how the spring back mechanism works. Sheet metal bending can be acquired from many different processes namely air bending, bottoming and coining processes. For this model we have considered v bending in air bending process. The designed model has been analyzed using ANSYS software, and different variables for the parameters were used to see if the spring back effect had any change. The analysis results found that spring back effect is caused by many factors like thickness, length, die and punch radius, cut cross sections near the bend area.
