Abstract

Resumen: En el marco de los debates sobre el bienestar en la infancia, este trabajo se sitúa en el estudio del bienestar de los niños y niñas en la escuela, desde una perspectiva discursiva enfocada en las relaciones sociales y en las prácticas institucionales configuradas en el contexto escolar, y en las oportunidades que en este espacio social se generan. El propósito de este estudio es analizar cómo se construye discursivamente el bienestar en la escuela desde los niños. Para ello se realizaron entrevistas grupales a 39 niños y niñas entre 10 y 12 años procedentes de distintos tipos de establecimientos escolares y niveles socioeconómicos. Los resultados permiten evidenciar tres repertorios interpretativos: La liberación de lo normativo; el reconocimiento de la singularidad y ritmos de aprendizaje; y el de “docentes divertidos” en contraposición a “docentes amargados”. Se discuten estos hallazgos en relación con el funcionamiento de la institución escolar y el modelo gestión educativa vigente.

Abstract: Taking the debates on childhood well-being as framework, this work focuses on the study of girls’ and boys’ well-being inside the schools, from a discourse perspective centered in social relations and institutional practices within the school context and the opportunities generated in this social environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze how welfare is built by children on a discourse level. In order to achieve this, 39 boys and girls of 10 to 12 years old and from different socio-economic classes and different schools were interviewed. The results bring forward three interpretative repertoires: the debunking of the norm, recognizing of singularity and learning rhythms, and “amusing” teachers instead of “bitter” ones. These findings are discussed in relationship with the functioning of the institution and the current model of educational management.
