          Abstract

          The effect of ethoxylated rapeseed oil fatty acid methyl esters (ROFAME) on the viscosity, functional properties and skin compatibility of hand dishwashing liquids was analyzed. It was found that, over the test range, both the degree of ethoxylation and concentration in the formulation were essential for the properties of the evaluated products. Among others, this was due to the fact that ROFAME had the favorable effect of modifying the viscosity of these formulations to an acceptable range. The relationship between the concentration and degree of polyaddition of ROFAME on the detergent and foaming properties of the complete formulation was presented, showing their increase in comparison to the reference dishwashing liquid without ROFAME. With respect to the parameters relating to the skin irritant, the degree of skin dryness after dishwashing with the auxiliary surfactants was lower.

          Kurzfassung

          Der Einfluss von ethoxylierten Rapsöl-Fettsäuremethylestern (ROFAME) auf die Viskosität, die funktionellen Eigenschaften und die Hautverträglichkeit von Handgeschirrspülflüssigkeiten wurde analysiert. Es wurde gefunden, dass über den Testbereich sowohl der Ethoxylierungsgrad als auch die Konzentration in der Formulierung wesentlich für die Eigenschaften der bewerteten Produkte waren. Dies war darauf zurückzuführen, dass ROFAME den günstigen Effekt hatte, die Viskosität dieser Formulierungen unter anderem auf einen akzeptablen Bereich zu verändern. Die Beziehung zwischen der Konzentration und dem Polyadditionsgrad von ROFAME auf die Reinigungs- und Schaumeigenschaften der vollständigen Formulierung wurde dargestellt und zeigte ihre Zunahme im Vergleich zum flüssigen Referenzgeschirrspülmittel ohne ROFAME. In Bezug auf die Parameter, die Aussagen über auf die Hautreizung liefern, war der Grad der Hauttrockenheit nach dem Geschirrspülen mit den Hilfstensiden niedriger.

                Tomasz Wasilewski received his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Radom, Poland (2000), his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Technical University of Warsaw, Poland (2004) and his DSc. in Commodity Science from the Cracow University of Economics, Poland (2014). He was supported by the Foundation for Polish Science (2006–2007), and is currently a researcher at the Department of Chemistry, University of Technology and Humanities in Radom. Main research topics of Assoc. Prof. Tomasz Wasilewski are cosmetics and household products, their manufacturing, properties, quality assessment and physicochemistry of aqueous solutions of surfactants. Currently, he is the Head of Department of Chemistry and the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science, Technology and Design at University of Technology and Humanities in Radom.

                Yong-qiang Sun is a professor at the China Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry. His research field centered at the ethoxylation of feedstock molecules that do not carry an active hydrogen, such as methyl esters, fatty-fatty diesters, and triglycerides.

                Wiesław Hreczuch, D.Sc. In 1985 graduated from the Poznan University of Life Sciences. In 1993 he defended doctor degree and in 2013 doctor of sciences degree from the Faculty of Chemical Technology at the University of Technology in Poznan. In the years 1988- 2002 he worked at the “Blachownia” Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis in Kedzierzyn-Kozle, including responsibility of head of department. Since 2002 he runs independent business as the owner and managing director of MEXEO Institute of Technology, located in Kędzierzyn Koźle, Poland. Specialty – organic synthesis, evaluation and industrial applications of surfactants.

                Artur Seweryn received his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Radom, Poland – specialization Materials Science and Engineering (2010), then Ph.D in Commodity Science from University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, Poland in Faculty of Economics and Legal Science (2017). Currently works as a researcher in Department of Chemistry, University of Technology and Humanities in Radom. Main research topics are manufacturing of household products and cosmetics, quality assessment, aspects related to the safety of use of cosmetics and household chemicals, functional and physicochemical testing.

                Tomasz Bujak received his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Radom, Poland – specialization Materials Science and Engineering (2010). Currently works as a researcher in Department of Cosmetology at The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow. Main research topics are manufacturing of cosmetics and household products, natural cosmetics and quality assessment.
