          Abstract

          Polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMNL)-derived microparticles (MPs) have been recently reported as activators of vascular endothelium in vitro. The objectives of the present study were to evaluate the production of MPs in severely injured patients and to clarify the role of these MPs.
