Abstract

El propósito de este artículo es analizar la definición social de relaciones abusivas respecto de los niños, la caracterización de las situaciones en las que tienen lugar y el perfil de las víctimas y los agresores. El material que se analiza proviene de los testimonios contenidos en los talleres de discusión y en las entrevistas semiestructuradas a directivos, docentes y orientadores sociales y educacionales de escuelas situadas en una zona muy pobre ubicada frente al Riachuelo, que es el límite del Distrito Capital de la República Argentina. El trabajo de campo se llevó a cabo en el año 2000. Se seleccionaron cinco escuelas en las cuales se entrevistaron a todas las maestras de cuarto año, además de directivos y orientadores. Simultáneamente se llevaron a cabo talleres de discusión. Como en todos los estudios de este tipo, los testimonios ofrecen la percepción selectiva del hablante y su interpretación socio-cultural de los procesos sociales que describen.

Translated abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyse the social definition of abusive relationships with regard to children, the characterization of situations in that they take place, and the profile of victims and aggressors. The material that is analysed comes from tetimonies obtained in discussion workshops and semi-structured interviews of principals, teachers, and social and educational workers of shools situated in a very poor area located next to Riachuelo forming the bordeline of the Argentine Republic's Capital District. The fieldwork was carried out in the year 2000. Five shools were selected, in that all female teachers of the fourth year, as well as principals and social workers, were interviewed. Simultaneously, discussion workshops were carried out. As in all studies of this kind, the tetimonies offer the speaker's selective perception and his/her socio-cultural interpretation of the social processes described.
