Three nanosized polyoxovanadate-based metal–organic polyhedra have been successfully synthesized, which adopt isostructural octahedral cage geometries.
Three polyoxovanadate-based metal–organic polyhedra (denoted as VMOP-1, -2, and -3), adopting isostructural discrete octahedral cage geometries, were successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. These structures are all built up from the same pentavanadate {V 5O 9Cl} cluster connected by linear bidentate ligands (H 2L1 = H 2BDC, H 2L2 = H 2BDC-NH 2, H 2L3 = H 2BDC-Br), respectively.
